According to an Activision press release and Wired.com, apparently both Rock Band and Guitar Hero World Tour will have new downloadable content from the Killers on November 25th, the same day their 3rd album “Day and Age” hits stores.
Wired.com reports that three Killers songs will arrive in Rock Band: “Mr. Brightside,” Smile Like You Mean It” and “Spaceman,” with the final song coming from their new disc.
Activision’s announcement has three songs as well, but with two of the three coming from the new album plus the hit single “Mr. Brightside”. The new songs will be “Human” and “Losing Touch”.

Harmonix has announced the latest addition to its selection of downloadable albums: The Colour and the Shape, the Foo Fighters’ hit 1997 effort which features hit singles “Monkey Wrench” and “My Hero.” If you have only the original Rock Band, you’ll be missing out on ”Everlong” which is already on the disc for Rock Band 2.

After a nailbiting 24 hours, we finally received our email with the code to download the 20 additional bonus tracks from Rock Band. You should be receiving yours shortly if you haven’t already. And, in case you’ve forgotten, we’ve got the list of songs below. If you haven’t already registered for your songs, there’s still time and we’ve got the instructions for you right here.
We’re still waiting for an official confirmation from Harmonix, but if this article on IGN is accurate, next week will see the release of seven brand-spanking new single tracks for you to choose from! (And from four different artists to boot!) Without further adieu, here’s what you can add to your DLC roster next week:

Starting on Election Day, (November 4th for you non-voters under a rock) Rock Band will gain three new tracks from The Presidents of the United States, according to the band’s official website.
No pricing was mentioned, but Rock Band DLC tunes usually go for 160 Microsoft Points ($1.99), with a 3 pack usually selling for 440 Microsoft Points ($5.49).
Available to Xbox 360 owners on November 4, the three downloadable tracks will be:
- Ladybug
- Dune Buggy
- Feather Pluck’n

After weeks of speculation, the cat is finally out of the bag. In a post on the official Rock Band forums directing the announcement to an article on IGN, Rock Band’s 20 free downloadable tracks have been listed, with a release date of November 4th for both Xbox 360 and PS3.
Regarding the popularity of the artists of these new songs, I’ll just use a quote from the IGN article that pretty much says it best:
While the songs on disc are mainly well-known ditties, the 20-pack is made up of up-and-coming bands, some of whom you may not know.

“Where’s Nevermind?” has become an overused catchphrase in Rock Band circles over the last year or so. Although mentioned by the game’s developers as an example of Rock Band’s full album DLC capabilities, Nirvana’s breakthrough album was never officially announced.
Until today… sort of.
