While it may be old news to some, I’m betting there are quite a few of you out there who haven’t heard the latest confirmations from both Microsoft & Sony concerning instrument controller compatibility between the big upcoming music games.
With the controller “lock-out” between Rock Band and Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock, many music gamers are loathe to purchase multiple full new setups this fall when the newest titles and equipment debut in order to play each game to its capacity. Thanks to posts located HERE at the official Playstation blog, and HERE at the Gamerscore (Official Xbox) blog, both companies have confirmed that any instrument controller from Rock Revolution, Guitar Hero World Tour, and Rock Band 2 will work between all 3 games. Now, instead of buying everything, you can make the choice you want, knowing you will be able to play everything with little hassle.
Or you can wait and see what our Rockin’ Reviewer, Cena, has to say about the new equipment once he gets his hands on them. I’m curious to see how much of the new gear he’s gonna spring for, and where he’s gonna put it all!
An article published by IGN Friday revealed that, in conjunction with Major League Baseball’s All-Star Week festivities next week, an upcoming Xbox LIVE edition of their fabled “Game With Fame” series will feature New York Yankees pitcher, Joba Chamberlain. Xbox LIVE users have the opportunity to take him on in Activision’s latest, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith.

Get the feeling Activision has been releasing so much DLC lately that they’re trying to get in the groove for when World Tour is released? Well, in honor of Independence Day, Guitar Hero 3 will be receiving another free track to add to its library, and fans of 80’s movies will know this one quite well.
After perusing the local retailer ads Sunday morning, I figured it’d be a good idea to notify our readers about a few deals going on this week in conjunction with Sunday’s release of Guitar Hero: Aerosmith.

An interesting update this week to be sure. A new free DLC track for Guitar Hero 3 is now availbale on both the Xbox LIVE Marketplace and PSN store. The track, titled “I am Murloc” , will be familiar to most avid World of Warcraft users. It was debuted at BlizzCon 2005, and was created by Blizzard’s in-house band, Level 70 Tauren Chieftain. The song is reportedly a humorous ode to a race of fish people, much beloved by players of the game.
Whether you’re a Warcraft player or not, there’s not really an excuse to turn down free DLC. Time will tell if there will be any future similar installments coming from ActiBlizzion, now that the two companies have become one. [Author's note: I don't play WoW, so this is all new to me.....]
