An article in BusinessWeek confirms what Activision has already been touting: Guitar Hero: On Tour for the Nintendo DS system has Rocked Out in sales! Regardless of our take, the game is clearly a hit and came in second only to Metal Gear Solid 4 with sales of 422,300 units. "ROCK OUT!" Yes, we've all seen the incredibly cheesy trailer for Guitar Hero: On Tour by now. Hey, it got people talking (for better or worse), right? As the saying goes, there is no such thing as bad publicity.

Well, GH:OT hit store shelves several weeks ago, and it broke Nintendo DS sales records. For some of you, however, the question still remains… is the game actually worth taking on a plane, on the train, or even on the pot? Here’s a peek at what to expect when you open up your DS box and try out your new Guitar Hero: On Tour game. I love this guy’s makeup.

An article posted on pocketgamer.com has revealed that Nintendo Power Magazine has updated the “Guitar Hero: On Tour” track listings. The 10 newly announced tracks are as follows:

  • “All Star” - Smash Mouth
  • “Breed” - Nirvana
  • “China Grove” - The Doobie Brothers
  • “Heaven” - Los Lonely Boys
  • “Helicopter” - Bloc Party
  • “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” - Pat Benatar
  • “Jessie’s Girl” - Rock Springfield
  • “Rock And Roll All Nite” - KISS (cover by Line 6)
  • “This Love” - Maroon 5
  • “What I Want” - Daughtry

These 10 tracks are in addition to the five previously announced tracks covered in our April 23rd story:

  • “All The Small Things” - Blink 182
  • “Are You Gonna Be My Girl” - Jet
  • “Do What You Want” - OK Go
  • “Spiderwebs” - No Doubt
  • “We’re Not Gonna Take It” - Twisted Sister

Thoughts on the new tracks? I was personally on the fence about this game, but now that it will have The Doobie Brothers, it has me sold! Stay tuned for more of our continuing coverage on this game, slated for a June 22nd release!
