An article published by IGN Friday revealed that, in conjunction with Major League Baseball’s All-Star Week festivities next week, an upcoming Xbox LIVE edition of their fabled “Game With Fame” series will feature New York Yankees pitcher, Joba Chamberlain. Xbox LIVE users have the opportunity to take him on in Activision’s latest, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith.
To take part in the fun, make sure to send a friend request to gamertag JobaGWF by 6:30pm Eastern Time on Wednesday, July 16th. Then fire up the game, check your friend list and rock out!

Activision wants the world to know that they're nowhere near ready to relinquish the rhythm game crown to MTV/Harmonix and their rookie sensation Rock Band.
| The publisher, along with developer Neversoft and perennial rock gods Aerosmith, took over Times Square Friday afternoon (two full days before Sunday’s launch) to unveil the latest entry in their guitar simulation series, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith.

Less than a week to go for Aerosmith fans who are waiting for the imminent release of Guitar Hero’s first single band game, titled Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. The game is due to hit shelves this Sunday (6/29/08) for all platforms and will contain songs from not only Aerosmith, but additional bands who have either toured with, or influenced the band along their way to superstardom. We’ve been seeing little pieces of the track list for weeks, but now the fill list has ben disclosed.

Fresh from the “We knew it would be true but didn’t want to think about it” department, comes news that Guitar Hero: Aerosmith will not be compatible with Guitar Hero III DLC. Seeing how GH:A is basically GH III with different graphics, this is a bit of a let down. I can understand the songs not being compatible with the upcoming Guitar Hero: World Tour, being a completly different game…… But I really can’t see buying what is essentially an expansion pack that won’t allow you to play the content that you bought for the original game. Is it a big deal? No, it just means disc swapping. But ya know what. It would have been nice.

Lest we forget, just because we are in the midst of a media blitz for Guitar Hero World Tour due out later this year, does not mean that we are to be spared from promotions for Guitar Hero: Aerosmith which is due to hit stores June 29th. According to gamer.tm, DMC will even be a playable character. Here’s a trailer for the game which shows a couple of the bands that we’ve heard will be included in the edition, as bands who have toured with or influenced Aerosmith along their path to super sellouts stardom.
