Well on top of that, PLUS the twenty free songs that you can download next week, Harmonix has thrown in two extra singles for a triple play. For only 99¢ (80 XBox pts) you can also download new tracks from Hinder and Fall Out Boy.

We mentioned last week that one way to get wireless microphones for your Rock Band and Guitar Hero jam sessions was to consider buying the game Lips, out November 14th. Well, there’s an additional bonus besides the two mics included (and of course the game itself)- free songs if you pre-order from Amazon.com“. We’ve also got the full tracklist which was revealed today. Lips will be available in mid November for $69.99.

In addition to the 84 new songs on the Rock Band 2 disc, fans can expect another little gift coming from Harmonix soon: 20 FREE downloadable songs! These tunes had been announced (but not itemized) a while back, and recently re-confirmed on the Rock Band Forums, just in case you were still wondering. And no, they still have not listed what those twenty will be.
On the downside, it seems we won’t be getting that nifty jukebox feature we told you about in July ,that would have allowed us to have the awesome Rock Band soundtrack playing in the background at parties without having to actually play the game. According to the post, the feature was removed late in the development stage, and probably not expected to be implemented going foward. (Crowd boos).

Just a reminder to the story we posted a while ago, that PS3 owners can download the free Guitar Hero 3 God Of War “The End Begins (To Rock)” track later today when the PSN store updates. Make sure to check later this afternoon. (The update usually happens around 4:00-5:00pm Eastern time)
With all these stories lately concerning new DLC for Guitar Hero 3, anyone else get the feeling $Cashtivision$ Activision is trying to convince people they can get DLC out on a semi-frequent basis before Guitar Hero: World Tour comes out?
