If you’re a fan of the Escapist magazine and their reviews by Ben Yahtzee, you’ll be pleased to know he’s put out his review of Guitar Hero World Tour. Word of warning: foul language and missing punctuation involved.
Now that you’ve had your Turkey dinner, Black Friday is mere moments away. Before you hit the streets at unbelievable hours, consider sharing your passion for music with these incredible deals. I’ve prepared a one-stop music game shop for Black Friday 2008. Share the love, and give the gift of music to someone this holiday season.
RockGamerJen has come down with a serious case of Fallout 3-itis, so until she recovers (or beats the damn game), it looks like I’m manning the reporter’s desk.
So… interesting week on the Rock Band DLC front. We’re getting another batch of European songs, ranging from Italian rock/pop (Finley’s “Tutto E’ Possibile”) to Finnish metal (Children of Bodom’s “Are You Dead Yet”).
Additionally, we have MTV/Harmonix’s first attempt to tap the pre-teen demographic through Rock Band, with a pair of tunes by the Naked Brothers — “Body I Occupy” and “I Don’t Want to Go to School” — and Miranda Cosgrove (aka the Poor Man’s Miley Cyrus) with “Headphones On.”
Unless you speak Spanish, Italian or have a grade schooler in your home, this might not be the week for you. On the bright side, all the songs are either 99 cents or free! If that’s not enough to sway you, just hold out an extra week for the rumored release of the No Doubt: The Singles pack. And if you do happen to be a fan of Platero Y Tú, ¡enhorabuena! As always, check out DLC Central for video previews and more.
Below you will find HMXSean’s official announcement from the Rock Band forums:

Thank you to everyone who waited so patiently for our late start. We are extremely grateful for your support and were amazed by the number of new faces that came in to play along with the regular crowd. We’ll be back to our regular 7-11PM schedule starting next Tuesday, December 2.
If you live in the New York City area or are visiting for the holidays, make sure you join us at the Village Pourhouse on Tuesday nights. You won’t find a better time with booze and plastic music instruments.
And kiddies, mark your calendars for Wednesday December 10, as RockGamer will be co-hosting the New York leg of FUNDE RAZOR 2008 for the Child’s Play charity. You can read the official announcement at www.funderazor.com. Stay tuned to RockGamer for more details.
RockGamer.com has just received a pair of Peak Starpex “Instrument Quality” PS2/PS3 wireless guitar controllers for FUNDE RAZOR 2008. Well, let me tell you, these puppies are BEASTS! Thanks to the kind folks at Peak Inc., FUNDE RAZOR NYC will feature the Peak Starpex at the Guitar Hero World Tour free play area. Not only will the Peak Starpex be playable… we will be giving both away by the end of the night!
Until we post our full review later this week, here are some photos from the Unwrapping to whet your appetite. Enjoy!

RockGamer.com reader Kijdhefgi gives his thoughts on the 3rd string player in the rock games battle
Rock Revolution is well worth it for the $15 I paid for it at Best Buy. I’d recommend a rental of it but it’s cheap enough to go out and buy. It’s fun to bandwagon on hating this but it’s not a bad game. Their PR is really bad and I can see that turning a lot of people off from it, and their own drumkit is kinda funky, but the game itself is enjoyable. Then again, there’s enough of you people that hate on things you’ve never played or listened to around here, so I’m not sure if anyone’s gonna heed my advice and try this out. Oh well. I like it, and I’m better than you.
