Rock Band Developers Answer Questions at Pax

Rock Band fans - we need your input. RockGamer.com is sending a few ace reporters to Pax at the end of this month and we’d like to get an idea of the burning questions you still have about Rock Band 2 or Harmonix in general that you haven’t seen answered yet.

We’ll take those directly to the top and then report back to you with the news!  Just post your question in the comments section so we can make a list.  We’ll get as many of them answered as we can - even if it means holding someone hostage at plastic gunpoint.

We even have prizes to give away to the folks who come up with the most questions that make it onto our final list.  So post away!!

What are the 20 free DLC songs?

What’s the process for importing the RB1 disc songs?

Any chance of importing RB1 characters? (Possibly with a future patch)

Will we see more frequent free DLC?

What if anything can you tell us about the rumored Song Creator for RB2?

Will achievements/scores for imported rock band 1 disc songs also be imported?

Will vinyl/gold/platinum artist awards be imported?

Where are the Freezepop and Vagiant tracks?

I will post more as I think of them.

What are the chances of getting hammer-on-style notes for cymbal notes on drums? Just like hammer-ons (and pull-offs), the player has the option on how to play it (by hitting the pad or the cymbal), and this would help a lot for people trying to play more realistically with the new drum sets that have cymbals.

Is September 19th the official release date?

Can we use our old Bass pedal from Rock Band 1 with Rock Band 2?

When will the 20 free DLC songs be announced? Are there any artists we should expect more of, that aren’t on the current announced one? (Stone Temple Pilots, The Strokes, etc.)

Will the way you lose a song when a member quits be remedied?

I would like clarification on the band challenges. From what I have learned, you would have to beat your friends list initially and then the challenge would open up to the world.

If I understand that correctly, those challenges that require multiple players (full band challenges etc), those players would have to be playing with you locally on the same box.

If that is the case, then does this mean that I would not be able to do challenges WITH people on my friends list, as I would have compete against them in order to advance.

The reason I ask this question, is that most of the time I play online, it is with the same people that are in my friends list, I was hoping to do the challenges with those friends, not against them.

More clarification on this mode of gameplay would be appreciated!

What is the official release date and pricing? if websites are to be believed we are less then a month away and still no confirmation from HMX. What will be sold at launch? what will be available as far as accesories. Seriously HMX it’s time to spill the beans.

Will Gold and Platinum Endless setlist icons cross over to RB2?

Will there be a 100 song Endless setlist?

Is it true that there will be a Hot Topic shot in RB2?

How much disc space should we have free in order to export our Rock Band songs to Rock Band 2?

For those of us who choose to do the export process, is it a one time thing, or can we do it again if we deleted the export to make more space on our HDDs?

Will there be an option to revisit classic RB1 setlists in World Tour mode, such as The Endless Setlist and Hall of Fame?

Will the previous functions of the Rocker’s Home page at http://www.rockband.com remain intact, or will they be revamped and replaced for Rock Band 2?

Why are there seven days in a week?

I always thought that was so random. Why not five, or ten?
