Rock Band 2 Update - 20 Free DLC tracks!

Taken from Harmonix’s press release, and from our earlier Rock Band 2 Features” story, there’s an important piece of info that you may have skipped over if you didn’t read carefully.  84 songs on a disc is a LOT of rockin’ to get through, but Harmonix wanted to have over 100 songs included from the get go! Due to time constraints, the amount of tracks got cut down.  However, the upside of this is that those cut tracks will be available this fall (presumably on release day) as FREE downloadable content!

In case anyone missed the official wording, here it is for you:

- The Rock Band 2 soundtrack will feature over 100 songs - with over 80 songs on disc plus an additional 20 bonus tracks which will be made available for free download this fall

With two months or so to go, (for 360 owners) expect lots of frothing at the mouth over this amazing turn of events from Harmonix!  No announcements on what exactly those tracks are, but if the accuracy of our rumored track listing article from last week is any indication, (which it 100% was) here are 8 of the most likely suspects:

  • Against Me - “Stop!”
  • Bad Religion - “Suffer”
  • Blink-182 - “Dammit”
  • Dead Kennedys - “Holiday In Cambodia”
  • Free - “Alright Now”
  • George Thorogood - “Bad To The Bone”
  • Hot Hot Heat - “Bandages”
  • Static-X - “Push It”

As soon as any announcement is made about these 20 tracks, we’ll let you all know.  (Now, I’m off to play some Who tracks!)

Yeah, why type up this article when you can play The Who ::)
None of these songs catch my eye, but I’m sure I’ll be pleased with the 20 they pick.

Nice info eldiablo I haven’t seen any other news sites with this info, nice work. That is very cool of harmonix and EA to give us that many songs with the game, looks like they’re really trying to kick GH 4’s ass.

Y’all need to check it again. Bad to the Bone was already released as DLC and charged for. I think people will be pissed if they bought it and then it is put in the free 20 DLC.
