Can’t get enough Guitar Hero? Looking for GH merchandise past the games & guitars? The Air Guitar Hero just not enough? Well, come this fall, Activision is teaming up with McFarlane Toys to bring figures based off characters from the Guitar Hero franchise!
McFarlane Toys has a track record of producing some of the most beautifully sculpted renditions of characters ever, and their history of “licensed rocker” figures is quite impressive. Just to name a few, they’ve churned out figures of Alice Cooper, Janis Joplin, Eddie from Iron Maiden, a Metallica box set, KISS, Rob Zombie, and the list goes on from there, but you get the idea.
The initial wave of figures will consist of 4 favorites, all of which come with a Guitar Hero logo base and one of the guitars from the game. Incidentally, the guitars will all be interchangeable between figures for maximum customization. Moving parts, or points of articulation, is said to be between 15-18 per figure.
No price has been given just yet, but given McFarlane’s other product pricing and the rising cost of oil, I’d be surprised if they were under $15 each. Also, there has been no confirmation if there will be future waves of figures after the initial 4. The 4 figures in the lineup are Axel Steel, the God of Rock, Johnny Napalm & Lars Umlaut. OK, on to the pictures!
