Lest we forget, just because we are in the midst of a media blitz for Guitar Hero World Tour due out later this year, does not mean that we are to be spared from promotions for Guitar Hero: Aerosmith which is due to hit stores June 29th. According to gamer.tm, DMC will even be a playable character. Here’s a trailer for the game which shows a couple of the bands that we’ve heard will be included in the edition, as bands who have toured with or influenced Aerosmith along their path to super sellouts stardom.
Just announced on the official Rock Band forums, next week we get two 3-packs, and they couldn’t be any more different! First up we have the expected releases from Disturbed, as we reported way back when from the Best Buy promo. Each track will cost $.99 (80 MS points), or you can buy the 3-pack for the equivalent price of $2.99 (240 MS points). These prices are for a limited time only, and the three tracks are
“Indestructible”
“Inside the Fire”
“Perfect Insanity”
Now I DID say two 3-packs, right? Well here’s a surprise for all you Parrot Heads: Jimmy Buffet makes his Rock Band debut with three tracks as well! There is a minor downside, these are master re-recordings, and NOT the original masters. These tracks will be standard individual prices of $1.99 (160 MS points) each, or the discounted 3-pack rate of $5.49 (440 MS points).

Jimmy Buffett Pack:
“Margaritaville”
“Cheeseburger In Paradise”
“Volcano”
I’ll see you guys with my flip-flops on this coming Tuesday! I’ll have a few cold ones ready, and the grill will be fired up! Check out the videos below for a preview of the new additions and check out our NEW DLC Central tab for more details about the artists, lyrics and the notecharts as they become available!
Ever see one of those big Playstation gaming semi trucks pull up and park at one of your local retailers or local event? That would be what the folks at Sony call “The Playstation Experience”/”The Playstation Patrol”. (Seems the “Experience” goes to concerts & events, while the “Patrol” goes to the retailers - same function, 2 different names. Whoopee.) While Sony has yet to get off their behinds and actually update their website with information, they do have a sister site dedicated to their latest promotional contest; Take the Stage with Rock Band!

From the rumor mill, an article posted on Kotaku 2 weeks ago has some scarce, but still interesting information regarding the possibility of Rock Band 2 making its way to store shelves, along with some new pricing and bundle configurations for the current game.
While the details and concrete info are practically nonexistent in the article, it speaks of an internet survey floating around that has some interesting questions about pricing and future installments of the series. Continue reading for a list of the questions asked. Continue Reading “Online Survey Leads to Questions Aimed at Rock Band’s Successor?” »
See Tony Hawk looking uber bored, Paula Abdul doing an impersonation of a medicated American Idol judge clapping open handed, and see Activision’s CEO Bobby Kotick get his ass handed to him in the first five seconds of the intro by co-host Kara Swisher. It’s on everyone’s minds, but it actually comes out of her mouth.

Here’s a peek at what to expect when you open up your DS box and try out your new Guitar Hero: On Tour game. I love this guy’s makeup.
File this one under “Chicago Horde’s been a little slow this week”, due to the holiday. (And the fact that new He-Man DVDs came out yesterday!) For Xbox 360 owners who have been a little behind on their DLC purchases, or who are still waiting for those tax returns/rebates to show up, here’s a little bit of welcome news for ya. In this week’s Target ad, 1600 Microsoft points cards are on sale through this coming Saturday, 5/31, for $14.99 instead of the usual $19.99!
This week you can pick up a couple more Rock Band Downloadable songs at a steep discount. Similar to last week’s offerings, neither of these songs has been available at this price in the past. Available for only 80 Microsoft Points through 6/2 are
“Dirty Little Secret” by All-American Rejects
“Gimme Three Steps” by Lynyrd Skynyrd
Xbox LIVE’s Major Nelson previously reported that Harmonix, McDonald’s and MTV Games are running a promotion through June 2nd, offering 2 DLC tracks per week at half price rates. This is the last week of the promos so get them while they’re hot if you haven’t already.
